The Royal Wedding date of Prince William and Kate Middleton is already announced as well as the venue of the wedding for next year. It is official that they will be married at Westminster Abbey on Friday, April 29, 2011. This is the chosen date because it is the date of the Feast of St. Catherine. It is a good thing that the Cabinet already confirmed that the royal wedding date would be considered as a public holiday. The venue of the wedding is also a good choice because of its Royal History. Alastair Bruce commented: “The Abbey has had a great tradition of royal weddings and it’s a place close to where William may one day be crowned King.”
Surely, lots of prestigious people will attend the said wedding. Some of the heads of state already confirmed that they would be going to the wedding ceremony. The royal wedding date is said to be considered and described as a “semi-state” gathering.
Prince William is not yet decided of who will stand as his best man and the list of people who will attend the ceremony is not yet complete. One of the aide in the event said that the cost of the wedding would be paid out of private money from the Royal and Middletons family.
There are still many things that are not yet finalized like whether to use carriages or cars. The kind of weather in the wedding day will surely affect the decision. Even the wedding dress would be private, as Miss Middleton wants it to be a secret from Prince William.
